MIssion
Prepare every student for college, career, workforce, military service, and life. We do this by providing strong academic instruction, meaningful social-emotional support, and clear pathways that help students discover their purpose, build confidence, and pursue the future of their choice.
Vision
Be the model urban school district for student achievement, whole-child development, and community-centered transformation.
Our future is in flight.
The Flight Path: Where We Are Now
East Cleveland City Schools is entering a new chapter. After years of state oversight and limited local control, our district is building forward with a clear plan, a common language, and a stronger system for accountability. The Flight Plan is more than a document. It is our promise to students, families, staff, and the East Cleveland community.
The Flight Path serves as our district operating system. It makes our work clear, coordinated, and accountable by organizing the district around the Learning Core and five mission-driven support zones: Talent Engine, Access Core, Data & Technology Core, Systems Spine, and Fiscal Core. Together, these zones ensure that instruction, staffing, student support, technology, operations, and finances are all aligned to student success.
This is our Lift-Off Year, the foundation for the next several years of growth. Our work is focused on strengthening instruction, supporting educators, removing barriers for students, improving data use and technology, strengthening operations and safety, and protecting the district’s financial future.
Our Commitment to the Community
Families and community members should expect stronger instruction, clearer learning goals, more consistent student support, better communication, safer and cleaner schools, improved transportation, and greater transparency in how district resources are used.
We will track and share our progress through updated dashboards, public Altitude Reports, Board updates, and annual Flight Path reporting. Our goal is not simply to talk about improvement, but to show evidence of it throughout the year.
East Cleveland City Schools is a district with a plan, a purpose, and the leadership to carry it forward. Working together with students, staff, families, and the East Cleveland community, we will continue our climb.
Our future is in flight. And together, we rise.
