2026–27 Academic Priorities

1. Rigorous & Engaging Tier 1 Instruction

Priority: Provide all scholars with rigorous, engaging, standards-aligned Tier 1 instruction in the core subject areas.

Our Reading Goal:

🎯 75% of Caledonia scholars will meet or exceed grade-level expectations in reading.

Key Areas of Focus

Deliver high-quality, grade-level instruction aligned to Ohio Learning Standards.
Maintain high expectations and cognitive rigor for every scholar.
Use frequent checks for understanding and student data to adjust instruction.
Provide appropriate scaffolds while maintaining grade-level expectations.
Increase opportunities for scholars to explain their thinking, engage in academic discourse, and demonstrate learning.
Use small-group instruction strategically to address identified needs.

2. Targeted Intervention & Enrichment

Priority: Provide timely, targeted intervention and enrichment in reading and mathematics so every scholar receives the support or challenge needed to grow.

Key Areas of Focus

Use assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify individual scholar needs.
Provide targeted Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions through a strong iMTSS framework.
Progress monitor consistently and adjust interventions based on scholar response.
Provide enrichment and extension opportunities for scholars who have demonstrated mastery.
Maintain alignment between Tier 1 instruction, intervention, and enrichment.
Ensure that all scholars experience meaningful academic growth, regardless of their starting point.

3. Family Partnerships for Whole-Child Success

Priority: Develop strong, collaborative partnerships with families to support scholars' academic and social-emotional success.

Key Areas of Focus

Communicate regularly with families about academic progress, strengths, and areas for growth.
Provide families with practical strategies and resources to reinforce reading and mathematics at home.
Create meaningful opportunities for families to participate in the learning process.
Partner with families to support attendance, behavior, and positive school routines.
Strengthen school-home collaboration around scholars' social-emotional development.
Celebrate scholar growth and achievement with families.
